Best Practices for the Transgender-friendly Workplace

Description:

Many employers are aware of the importance of sensitively handling an employee's transition in the workplace but aren't fully aware of or confident about what they should do or when they should do it.  This workshop focuses on the most important issues to consider and plan for, including the legal standards affecting employee rights, policies and training, developing a transition plan, and when, what and with whom to communicate.  We will also discuss how to handle the questions and concerns of other employees and logistical issues such as locker room and rest room access, name and pronoun changes, and making changes in your company records.  Come prepared with your questions!
